My own lil'golf green

I have a 263 ft. X 66 ft. stretch of open land, behind our shop, that I mowed using a 2 inch cut and added a cup and flag at 173 ft. for my lil' golf green. It's not the PGA tour, and Tiger Woods probably won't be dropping by to hit a bucket of balls with us but it works for me!!!

Just off the pool for a good view of the game.

Springs Color and Blooms

I hope wherever you are, that spring is offering you as many beautful colors and blooms as we have here in East Texas. I love working outside, planting, pruning, and just enjoying all the color, wildlife and fragrances.

You can't have summer without the Hummingbirds!

Nobody’s Friend

My name is Gossip. I have no respect for justice, I aim without killing, I break hearts and ruin lives, I am cunning and malicious, and I gather strength with age. The more I am quoted the more I am believed. I flourish at every level of society. My victims are helpless; they cannot protect themselves against me, because I have no name and no face. To track me down is impossible, for the harder you try the more elusive I become. Thus, I am nobody’s friend. Once I have tarnished a reputation, it is never the same. I topple Governments and ruin marriages. I ruin careers and cause sleepless nights, headaches and indigestion. I spawn suspicion and generate grief. I make innocent people cry in their pillows. Even my name hisses, I am called Gossip. Office Gossip, coffee shop Gossip, party Gossip, telephone Gossip, and yes, Church Gossip. I make headlines.

Before you repeat a story, ask yourself, is it true, is it fair, is it necessary?

The facts of life:

On the first day, God created the dog and said:
'Sit all day by the door of your house and bark at anyone who comes in or walks past. For this, I will give you a life span of twenty years.' The dog said: 'That's a long time to be barking. How about only ten years and I'll give you back the other ten?' So God agreed.
On the second day, God created the monkey and said: 'Entertain people, do tricks, and make them laugh. For this, I'll give you a twenty-year life span.' The monkey said: 'Monkey tricks for twenty years? That's a pretty long time to perform. How about I give you back ten like the Dog did?' And God agreed.
On the third day, God created the cow and said: 'You must go into the field with the farmer all day long and suffer under the sun, have calves and give milk to support the farmer's family. For this, I will give you a life span of sixty years.' The cow said: 'That's kind of a tough life you want me to live for sixty years. How about twenty and I'll give back the other forty?' And God agreed again.
On the fourth day, God created man and said: 'Eat, sleep, play, marry and enjoy your life. For this, I'll give you twenty years.' But man said: 'Only twenty years? Could you possibly give me my twenty, the forty the cow gave back, the ten the monkey gave back, and the ten the dog gave back; that makes eighty, okay?''Okay,' said God, 'You asked for it.' So that is why for our first twenty years we eat, sleep, play and enjoy ourselves. For the next forty years we slave in the sun to support our family. For the next ten years we do monkey tricks to entertain the grandchildren. And for the last ten years we sit on the front porch and bark at everyone.
Life has now been explained to you. There is no need to thank me for this valuable information. I'm doing it as a public service.

His mercy endureth forever;

I was blessed to be revived in special service at my home Church (Victory Fellowship) this week. Bro and Sister Greg Henry ministered to us in song and The Word. Powerful move of God!!!

Also, I was touched by the hunger the youth displayed in each and every service by leading the way in worship and praise. They stood and worshiped almost the entire service each night! They are an awesome group of young men and women. They've been told their Holy Ghost is the SAME Holy Ghost that was given to the Apostle Paul, Bro. Jeff Arnold, Sister Mickey Mangun and everyone else that has even been filled.... The ONLY difference is and will always be, "the way you use what God has given you!" They apparently want to use what they've been given... GO Youth!!
