Help me oh God to seek your will and not my own.

When I think about rules my mind goes to the Garden of Eden.
The beginning of RULES!
It was true then and it is true now we humans don’t do well with rules.

Genesis 2:9, 15-17
Adam & Eve knew to not eat from the tree of knowledge of good and evil (the ability to know good from evil) and I am sure that they talked about the rule God had given them…but all they knew was that the rules existed, and that they would surely die if they ate of the fruit. The principle behind it was apparently never discovered. The WHY!! Nor did they love God enough to just do His will. It’s not always our business to know but sometimes to just TRUST!

Genesis 6:14
God instructed Noah to build an ark. As we all know the people did not obey the rules and JUST do what they were told…Let me ask, do you think that IF they’d really known the outcome of their actions they’d refused to get onboard the ark?

Exodus 20:3-17
The Ten Commandments are no different from any of the rules given to God’s creation!

We need to understand God’s ways and not just His acts.

I’ve heard it said too many times, “we can wear that, we can’t go there, we have to do this or we can’t listen to that?” Where’s the love or God & His will? The carnal nature wants to see how close we can come to being sinful and still not crossing the line of God’s judgment. Why can’t our response be, “If doing that displeases God, then I want no part of it?”

R & R

We took a few days off to relax and enjoy ourselves. Jeremy & my Mother came down and we all drove up to Beavers Bend in Broken Bow Oklahoma. We watched wildlife, hiked several trails, rode a train, Jeremy rode the rapids in a VERY cold river, visited the museum and anything else we saw that interested us. It was a GREAT trip. What a great place to go to get back to nature...

Thinking about how COLD it is!

Philippians 4:13

I can do all things through Christ which strengthen me.The road to success is not straight. There is a curve called Failure, a loop called Confusion, speed bumps called Friends, red lights called Enemies, caution lights called Family. You will have flats called Jobs. But, if you have a spare called Determination, an engine called Perseverance, insurance called Faith, a driver called Jesus, you will make it to a place called Success.

July 11th -13th

Our son, Jeremy brought his young people and college career group "The Chosen" from Hurst for a lil' R&R (not rest & relaxation! Recreation & roaring!) We all had a great time. We started off with lunch on Friday, then the motorcycle and Kawasaki mule cranked up for a day or riding, the pool filled up with people needing relief from the heat, some played a "closest to the pen competition for a cash prize, we had a tackle football game, some paddle in the lil' boat on the pond, in the evening we had a bonfire, fireworks, toasted marshmallows, then back to the pool and we chad lights out at midnight.

Saturday more bike and mule riding, more golf, we had a Special Ops Ranger as a guest to instruct all of the inexperienced gun handlers how to PROPERLY handle a firearm then we had a 4 hour skeet shoot, we made homemade ice cream and cake, we played card games, played in the pool and had a wonderful time.

Sunday we all (except 4 who FORGOT to bring Church clothes) went to Church.
It was a great time... So good to see more young people loving God.

Seeing the real you...

Have you ever felt trapped in your day to day, same-ole same-ole? You play on the computer, search the world wide web, post a blog or two, read a blog or two, realize it's time for lunch, read the news paper or magazine, do a few chores, back to the computer to see if you have any replies to your posts, hours pass and you realize its time for dinner, clean up the mess call a few Friends, text a few important messages to your contacts then it's so late you fall into bed an mumble a prayer. You're trapped in a trap of your own design, stuck inside your world looking out at the world passing you by. You vow to make changes tomorrow and make more time for God and devotion BUT tomorrow ends much the same. We're addicted to entertaining ourselves and hooked on doing things..

Too much of a good thing is NOT a good thing...

God knows our flesh and loves us! God to the rescue.....

God, in all His wisdom, spoke to our Pastor about our being too busy in the pleasures of our flesh that we were missing His blessings and directions. Pastor asked the Church body to stay off of the computer as much as they could, read our Bible instead of novels, magazines and other personal favorite reads, to spend more time with family and more time in The Word and in our relationship with God.

THANK GOD for speaking to our Pastor, and thank you Pastor for hearing and obeying.
